I'm still spending about 12 hours a day at the hospital, even if I can't stay the night. Mom had her initial evaluations with a speech therapist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist today. They all seem to be in consensus that she is doing really well and call her "high level." I guess that's good. It was funny when they first met her. Each one of them seemed surprised that she was able to walk, get herself showered and ready for the day, work on her computer. They don't anticipate her being here for very long as there not much they can do for her here. Most of her work will be for her speech and facial muscles, which she should be able to do as an outpatient or with home health care. Fantastic news. And her nurses and therapists are all really nice and funny, too. I'm really, really grateful that Mom's stroke wasn't worse.
