After baths tonight Aidan says, "I'm curious."

"About what?"

"How do paleontologists know where the fossils will be?"

"I'm not sure. Let's ask Dad."

"How do light bulbs make light?"

I proceed to look it up on the internet and read what I find.

"How do the pictures get into the television?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe Dad knows. Let's go put on jammies."

Rick was able to explain about the fossils (geology, rock strata, etc.), but we're still working on the TV one.

Does anyone know a good kid's encyclopedia or book about how things work?

I'm thankful for curiosity.

I love all the pictures you have recently posted! They are so good. How's the remodel coming along?

Have you tried 'The Way Things Work' books by David Macaulay?

I have "the New way things works"
Now, I didn't read the entries, but it does cover his topics. Definitely worth getting. It has some cute illustrations, and the author has a great sense of humor.
