So, I get home this afternoon and all the construction workers are gone earlier than usual because the kitchen floor was just stained. It's been raining and I can hear the water dripping off the gutters outside. Only, I listen a little harder and think that the water drops sound loud. I go about my business and put Sophie down for her nap. Boy, that rain is really loud. Maybe they opened the windows because of the fumes from the floor stain. I open the door to the kitchen and discover water pouring down from the ceiling! I'm in shock. I stand there a moment just watching the water splashing all over the kitchen, dripping from the ceiling. Then my brain kicks in and I run upstairs to the bathroom, which is also under construction. There is water streaming out of the pipe where the radiator is usually attached. Water streaming out all over the new bathroom floor that was also just installed today! I go to call the contractor and at the same time I'm running around crazy looking for something to catch the water. The contractor starts freaking out and assures me the project manager is on his way back. I hang up and grab towels to soak up the water. The contractor calls back, still freaking out. I check the boiler valve in the basement, but it's all the way off. I clean up the water as best as I can without totally destroying the new floors. I empty 3 buckets of water. The cabinet guy is here with the bathroom vanity. I try to calmy explain to him what is going on, but he proceeds to bring in the new vanity. I empty another bucket of water. The contractor calls back, still freaking out. The project manager finally shows up. Whew. The contractor calls the project manager (probably still freaking out) and they discuss the situation.

I'm grateful for Dr. Pepper.

What a horrible thing to have happen. did anyone ever figure out who caused the problem. Hopefully they got everything fixed without to much trouble. Hopefully the problem has been fixed by now.

I just read this today 4-1-09 and thought this has to be an April Fools day joke and then I saw your posting date. WOW!!!! I mean WOW!!! I know they say "When it rains it pours" but I never thought they meant it literally. You guys have had some luck with that house.
