207: Nobody's home

Photobucket
This nest fell out of one of our trees. It's made mostly of pine needles and a couple pieces of plastic. Maybe I need to make one of those nestng material bags full of stuff better than plastic. I would even donate some Egyptian yarn. I'm grateful the nest was empty.

Nesting material bags? Sounds interesting. (hint-what is it?) I like the pic, too. I've been wanting to ask you, is it normal for robin eggs to be around in July? I keep finding them broken in my garden.

You can read a little about providing nesting material for wild birds here:

It wouldn't be unusual for robins to have more than one clutch in a season.
