232: Still hanging in there + a little game

According to my sources this is an eastern black swallowtail butterfly caterpillar and it has 6 true legs and 10 prolegs. Anyone who guessed any derivation of that was entered into the drawing.

Now the results of the purely scientific random winner generator (Sophie picked a name out of a bowl) the winner is.......

CLAMMY!

Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. Thanks for playing everyone. I've really enjoyed all the comments.

I'm thankful a hungry bird hasn't found it, yet.

Now for the game. How many legs does this caterpillar have? I'll draw a random winner from all the correct guesses. You'll win...something fabulous, I'm sure (I'm thinking about this as I write, but you'll get something.). Contest will be closed Tuesday at 8:00am EST.

I guess 16.

That's an amazing picture, BTW!

But, only 6 of those are "true" legs, I think.

I think 18 is what I come up with when I teach the life cycle.

What an amazing picture!!! You better enter it in the BYU thing! It's a grand prizer!

This guess comes from Kalani.. he said zero because they don't have legs, he thinks they are arms???

I think 16. But there are only 3 sets are true legs. The rest are called prolegs I think.
