That sneaky little bugger. I'm so bummed I missed it emerging. When I checked on it yesterday I could see black through the chrysalis so I knew it was going to come out soon. Maybe next time I'll bring it inside and put it in a box. So, let's see...it spent 11 days in the chrysalis. I'm thankful that we've created a tiny little wildlife habitat in our own yard.
Hello, my name is Shauna. I photograph everything and everyone. I was formally educated in zoology as a wildlife biologist and ecologist but my current full-time occupation has me doing laundry, washing dishes, playing at the park, scrubbing toilets, cooking meals and packing lunches, kissing owies, helping with homework, building Lego castles, balancing the budget, mowing the lawn, planning picnics, cleaning up vomit, volunteering for the PTA, and booking the occasional vacation.

We have a little chrysalis, too. We have it inside. I don't know what kind of butterfly or moth it will turn into, though.
How fun! Sorry you missed it....maybe next time, right? =)
