This bugger is proving very difficult to photograph. I love the white spots on the body. I caught it laying eggs in my herbs. I've lost track of how many generations of caterpillars we've gone through this summer. So many. The herbs looks dreadful. Hardly anything left of them. I think for next summer I'm going to have to investigate if there are ways to attract different kinds of butterflies. I'm pretty sure we've had only one kind this year. I'm grateful for a project to look forward to for next summer.

You are a born scientist, eh? Very cool. Maybe you'll get a butterfly garden book for Christmas?!
