306: Home videos

Photobucket
Oliver asked to watch videos of when he was a baby. They were all riveted to the television. Oliver did a lot of crying back then. He was such a colicky baby. I remember Rick holding him for hours every night trying to soothe him. I remember how exhausted and helpless I felt. I'm grateful he grew out of it and turned into the happy boy he is now. They laughed so hard at Aidan's 3-1/2 year old sillies. It was fun to remember what he was like at the same age that Oliver is now.

In some of the videos I could see my dad's legs walking around in the background and I was silently hoping that he would come all the way into the frame, thinking "come on, just a little to the right." Then Aidan asks me, "Are we going to see Grandpoppa up close?" Maybe he was feeling a little bit of what I was while watching the videos. I'm grateful I have a little bit of my dad on video, for me and the kids.

Sweet, sweet picture. (I have been feeling like that going through my videos, too.)

That is one of my kids favorite things to do....they will go through phases where they will want to watch them for a few weeks and then stop for a few weeks, etc.

I am glad that you got bits and pieces of dad on them.
