066: Something wet just hit me + who's your mommy?

Photobucket
"Something wet just hit me." That's what Rick said while the kids were feeding the gulls. Ha ha!

+

At church today I helped out in the nursery. Sophie is in the nursery. She really likes her class. She really likes her teacher. I'm happy that she feels comfortable there. During snack time today, Sophie looks at me, then looks at her teacher and points at her and says, "Mommy!"

"What?" I reply.

"Mommy!" she says, again, pointing at her teacher.

Her teacher and I look at each other and laugh. Ha. ha. Not so funny. I was crushed. I really like Sophie's teacher. She is my friend and she is great with the kids. But no mom wants to hear her child call someone else mommy. So, I've acquiesced to the fact that Sophie has a church mommy and I remind myself that when church is over she always comes running to me with open arms squealing "Mommy!" and I scoop her up and snuggle her and take her home.

I'm grateful for Sophie's church mommy and for everything she puts into taking care of all the babies at church.

That's funny, but sad. What a stinker looking at you then calling the other lady mom.

Poor Rick. I love being called mom by accident.

May be she was just saying that the teacher is also a mommy. I've even had kids at school call me Mom. The whole class dissolves in laughter before the child even realizes what they said.
