070: I wish spring would wait a little longer before arriving

Photobucket
The past couple days have been so warm and spring-like. The daffodils are swelling up, ready to burst. The doves are mating outside my kitchen window. The leaves are popping out on the lilac bush. But, I let Rick convince me that he will build my raised beds for the veggie garden, and that has yet to happen. I had been planning to just buy a kit and put it together myself and get it done lickety-split, like, two weeks ago, when we still had snow on the ground. But here we are. No veggie beds, yet. Spring, please hold off a little while longer. I'm not ready.

And since I don't have a place to put them, today Oliver and I planted the peas in a pot. Crossing my fingers and hoping it's not already too late for them. Can peas even grow in a pot? Tomorrow I'll have to find a pot for the lettuces. I'm trying really hard to be grateful that Rick wants to try to save money by making the raised beds himself.

I can't believe that you can plant veggies already there! I am jealous! We have to play it safe and any kind of annual has to wait until after Mothers Day (to play it safe)
