That is the kind of bed I want to do this year.....but I still have all the pain of tearing out some grass. yuck! Glad you got it up! Now comes the fun part of planting and watching them grow!
Hello, my name is Shauna. I photograph everything and everyone. I was formally educated in zoology as a wildlife biologist and ecologist but my current full-time occupation has me doing laundry, washing dishes, playing at the park, scrubbing toilets, cooking meals and packing lunches, kissing owies, helping with homework, building Lego castles, balancing the budget, mowing the lawn, planning picnics, cleaning up vomit, volunteering for the PTA, and booking the occasional vacation.

looks like it might be cheaper to buy a truck load of top soil, instead of bags of soil.
You don't have to pull out the grass. These are 12" deep. Just put a few layers of newspaper in the bottom before you fill it.
I just might have to garden vicariosly through you this year. Good job on getting them done!
