119: Like an addict desperate for a fix

Photobucket

I felt a migraine coming on. I looked in the cupboard for some pain relievers, but couldn't find any. I felt the nausea creeping up. I searched the first aid kits, but couldn't even find an expired aspirin. The lights were searing into my brain. I ransacked the car, desperate for some relief, but there was nothing. Ugh. I'm going to be sick. Emptied my bag. Arrgh!!! I called Rick at work--maybe he had a stash hidden away somewhere? He told where he kept some, in a small container, cached in the van. But I already looked! It wasn't there! With phone pressed to my ear I went back out to the car. Please! where IS IT!!!

YES! I found it. I shook it. The glorious sound of relief at hand. Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I hang up the phone. Run into the house. Darn those child proof caps! Finally, I dump a small handful out, and swallow them all at once with a big glass of water (I think--it's all a blur). Lay down for a while, and finally soothing relief washes over me, like a gentle wave. Ahhhh.... Carry on.

I'm grateful for OTC pain relievers.

Glad you finally found some. Make sure you have some upstairs as well as down stairs and in the car so that doesn't happen again, that stress is enough in itself to set off a migraine!

Your journaling is perfect! Sorry you had a migraine, though.
