151: Memorial Day

We attended the wreath laying ceremony at our national cemetery. It was so moving--I was in tears. Rick said we should attend every year, and he's not even American.
After the ceremony we wandered around a little bit. Oliver was fascinated by all the different religious symbols on the stones. I thought it was neat that the Civil War soldiers were mixed in with the modern day soldiers. We also found graves from the Mexican War and Spanish-American war.

I'm grateful for all the men and women who gave their lives serving our country.

Check to see if there's a national cemetery in your area.
