166: This may be valuable someday, but today it's priceless

The walls of my home are lovingly but deliberately adorned with original works of art by our resident 4-year old Crayola virtuoso. He walks around with each finished masterpiece, surveying his surroundings, until he finds the perfect spot. Then he gets the blue tape and assiduously mounts his work to the wall. After each piece goes up he stands back and admires it. It's as if each just completed tableau is his magnum opus. It's so intriguing to watch him. He has been making do with our paltry box of 16 colors his entire short life, so when I brought home a box of 64 colors today, I thought he would die of chroma cardiac arrest. He examined the bounty, pulling some out and squealing the names of the colors. How he knew that it was called sea-green or raspberry mystifies me. Then, he immediately created this piece. I wonder what would have happened if I came home with the box of 120?

I'm grateful for 64 colors.

And with absolutely no prompting, my pink-o-phile pulled every shade from the 64-color box and made this. I love it!

Love, love, love it!

I have a post coming up regarding the children's art work decorating my home, too!

Love your vocabulary almost as much as their pictures.

A new box of many crayons is the best thing in the world to a young artist. I remember my first box of 64 crayons even now and the feeling of awe I felt with so many new crayons and colors.
