214: Adventures in the meat aisle

Last week was meat free in our house. I didn't declare it out loud or warn the family. I just did it. It's been so hot I haven't felt like cooking much anyway. Nobody seemed to even notice. Most of the recipes I used came from Super Natural Cooking. I have yet to find a recipe from there that we didn't like. Aidan especially enjoys the spring rolls. That said, when I was planning the menu for this week the first thing Rick said he wanted was RIBS! So, I had to venture into the meat aisle at the grocery store. You never know what you'll find....

I'm grateful when I don't have to go into the meat aisle on grocery day.

Ewww, disgusting! We don't eat a lot of meat in our house.
Thanks for the website link. I can't wait to check it out!

Funny that it is a "family pack"...but I guess it's normal for some families. I'm. Going to check out the link, too. I love fresh spring rolls!

Poor little pigs that lost their hooves. :(

There is just something wrong about seeing this photo and then seeing Sophie's sweet face right below it.

The author of the cookbook has a blog that I like:

www.101cookbooks.com

That's where I got the Amazing Black Bean Brownies recipe that my kids love.

Most of the recipes in her book have an Asian flair and some of the ingredients are hard to find. She is coming out with a book called Super Natural Everyday that I think is supposed to have easier recipes.

My friend's husband (who is in Med School) uses those to practice cutting and stitching (he's on a surgery rotation). I think I'd throw up if I found that in my fridge.

Can you send me the brownie recipe?
