265: Something's got to give + My 999th post. That's 999 days of my life.

Photobucket

I've shared 999 consecutive days of my life on this blog. Prosaic. Mundane. Dry. Ordinary. But mixed in with my everyday dealings have been the occasional moments of inspiration, bliss, delight, desperation, and sorrow. It's those moments that I'll cherish. Thanks for sticking with me.

And now, for the photo. As I was going about my day and trying to figure out how I was going to accomplish everything, pick up the kids, get homework done, get the kids fed, get to my church meeting (with kids in tow), and get everyone to bed at a decent hour at least one day this week (with hubby working late) I knew something had to give. On the verge of tears of stress I clicked over and ordered pizza. I had to give up making dinner tonight. I'm not one to eat out. I enjoy cooking and knowing that my family is eating healthy foods. But in the tug-of-war between sanity and super mom, sanity won and I had to order out. Then I loaded up the kids, went to my church meeting (and quietly whispered to the other leaders that I wouldn't be able to stay for the whole thing), snuck out and got the kids home early enough for baths and to get homework finished, tucked everyone into bed, and snuggled a little longer than usual so I could smell that clean baby smell. Sanity saved.

Yep. It's an ordinary life, but it's mine. And I wouldn't trade the past 999 days of it for anything.

Thank you for sharing your everyday life with me. I enjoy your blog very much and it helps keep me sane to know that other mom's are going through the same day to day grind that I am!

I'm not alone! That's how I felt when I read your post. You have a way to put into words exactly how I feel sometimes. What you did was a great example...family and sanity comes first over meetings. :) Love ya!
