165: I should be charging rent!

Photobucket

This is my craft buddy. He and his twin brother are in Aidan's class at school and have claimed me as their "responsible adult" to escort them off school campus at the end of the school day. This was never official and I never talked to their mom about it, they just started doing it and the teachers, or their mom for that matter, never batted an eye. Ever since the kids stopped getting homework the twins have been coming over after school--instead of turning left to their house they turn right to ours. Their mom says they're here so much I should charge them rent. Anyway, while Aidan and the other boy are busy putting Mario through the paces, this one comes over and watches whatever I'm doing. He's watched me put the finishing touches on Sophie's quilt and whip up a pair of pajama shorts for myself. He was amazed that I made clothes for myself. He's eaten our homemade pops and stuck by my side while I made dinner. Today he found the kids' beads and decided to make a bracelet for himself and also one for his "mommy". I hope she likes it.

That is so sweet. You never know the influence you have on kids' futures. Good for you!

can't believe that none of the responsible adults never questioned it! That's kind of scary! You can tell what kind of person you are when kids want to hang out with you! Love it!
