298: Creepy concocotion--eye of newt smoothie

Not really eye of newt, but avocado boba smoothie. These things are popular in Asian cuisine. It's giant black tapioca pearls in the bottom of a smoothie or tea, sometimes called "bubble tea." And you drink it with a giant straw so the "bubbles" come up the straw. Rick first told me about it a while back when a student from Manila brought him one. It sounded so bizarre that I had to try it. I ordered the tapioca online, but you could probably find it in an Asian market. It's strange. It's yummy. It was so rich I couldn't drink it all, but Sophie slurped it up, no problem. I thought it would be a nice, weird, Halloween treat, especially with the green color. You can find the recipe here.
