The new windows went in today.  I'm a little sad to see the original windows with the wavy glass go, but it was too hard to keep the house warm in the winter.  And now we have windows that will close all the way or aren't painted shut.  It was so nice having all the windows in the house open this evening with the cool spring breeze and the smell of the flowers blowing through making the curtains billow out.  It felt very cleansing.  I'm grateful for new windows.

I'm glad you got them! I still have a little thrill when I can open every window and not just the 3 that opened a little ways. I'm going to have a 1 year birthday party for them. ;)

Did you save the old for your cold frame?

I only saved one old window. Even then it probably won't ever get put to use. *big sigh* I've got some photos from Colonial Williamsburg of cold frames made with windows I should post somewhere so you can see them.

I'm glad you got it done so quickly. And in just one day! Your heating and air conditioning bills should be lower than they would have been this coming year.

I would love to see. I saved almost all of ours, hoping to make one. A friend is making a greenhouse out of windows and she might take them if I can't come up with any cool ideas. :(
