Aidan, my 9-year old got a chess set for his birthday and he's been teaching us how to play. I was feeling pretty confident that I was getting it down, learning some strategy. I thought I'd try out my new, mad chess skills on Oliver, my 5-year old. Ha-ha! I beat him! I was getting a little cocky so he immediately asked for a re-match. Sure. I'd like to win again. Bring it on little man. But then I didn't win. Not only did I not win, but Oliver took me by surprise. With his Rook. I didn't even see it coming. Checkmate!
I'll just be over here eating my humble pie.

Ha! Love it!
What a group of geniuses you have there. Chess pro's at 9 and 5. Ha, ha, can't believe he beat you.
Funny! My 2nd graders taught me, but I never won.
Hahaha! I like the way you told your story of playing him. =)
I'm no good at any kind of strategy game.
I have never learned to play. Too many rules ;-D
Colin is psyched that in 4th grade you can join the chess club! Is Aidan up for it??
