250: Labor Day, the un-official end of summer.

Photobucket
It was a rainy day, not fit for the beach, so we stayed home venturing out between breaks in the weather--splashing in puddles, throwing rocks in the water, watching herons, collecting acorns and rocks, following flocks of starlings.... I've been finding rocks and acorns all over the house. Sophie is my big collector.

I am sad to see the end of carefree, spontaneous days, but I'm happy that Aidan is excited to start 2nd grade. His teacher is the mom of one of his friends that he's known since pre-K.

I guess now I can finish my Egyptian yarn crochet project.

I'm grateful for a change of pace.

Sounds like an interesting day. Fall doesn't start officially start until Sept. 23rd. But it's always seemed to me like it started when school did. and the same for winter which really doesn't start until Dec 21st, but to me it starts on Thanksgiving Day.
